Meerkats

Today I read a book about meerkats. I learned about meerkats and I like them.

Meerkats live and work together in groups called colonies. Meerkats live in South Africa and meeerkats like rocky and hot places so many meerkats live in South Africa. Meerkats use their burrows through holes in the ground and make long tunnel. Meerkats eat grasshoppers, beetles, and spiders. They also hunt mice, small lizards, and small snakes. Meerkats sometimes eat bird eggs. Meerkats hunt diffrent place each day and they running out to found food everyday. Eagles and jackals hunt meerkats and if markats thought their is a eagles and jackels, they make noises to other meerkats. Females birth about 11 weeks after they mate. Females usually have two to four young babies. Kit's eye will open two weeks later and fur is very short first. Kits stay in the burrows until six months. Meerkats are not good pets, because meerkats are dangerous to people and they dig floors and walls. But meerkats are like people sometimes if they work together.
